- HMS Newfoundland (59) Commander from 4 February 1944 · Relieved on 19 February 1944
Aylmer Maurice Rundle had Newfoundland as a commander from 4 February 1944 until 19 February 1944. Captain Richard William Ravenhill joined the ship on 14 February 1944, on the naval-history chronology, so the two recorded commands overlap by five days. The overlap is left as the two sources print it.
Uboat.net says his birth details are unknown. It gives no death.
The page lists him as lieutenant from 15 November 1924, lieutenant-commander from 15 November 1932, and commander from 31 December 1938. It dates his retirement 16 January 1952.
Newfoundland is the only warship command on his page, and the page says no events were found for him. The naval-history chronology does not name him. He was mentioned in despatches on 11 July 1940. He received the Distinguished Service Cross on 11 June 1946. The page does not say for what.
He was appointed OBE on 1 January 1954, after the retirement date the same page gives. Nothing else was fetched.
