Charles Livingston Robertson commanded Kenya from 4 September 1943 until 25 June 1945. That was the Eastern Fleet commission: Surabaya, Port Blair, Sabang, Padang, Sigli, the Burma landings at Cheduba, Ramree and Letpan, and the passage home to the Chatham refit. He is not J. W. Robertson.

Uboat.net gives his birth as 2 September 1900. It gives no place, no parents, and no death.

The page lists him as midshipman from 15 July 1916, acting sub-lieutenant from 15 May 1918, sub-lieutenant from 15 January 1919, lieutenant from 15 June 1920, lieutenant-commander from 15 June 1928, commander from 31 December 1933, and captain from 30 June 1940. It dates his retirement 8 July 1949. It lists no decoration and says it has no career note.

The page gives him the battleship Royal Sovereign as a commander from 19 October 1939 to 27 November 1939, during a Devonport refit, and the light cruiser Capetown from 1 April 1943 to August 1943. In April 1943 Capetown escorted convoy AB 6 from Aden. He joined Kenya on 4 September 1943 at Kilindini. The naval-history chronology, which does not name him, then has the ship at Colombo and Trincomalee and, in 1944 and 1945, in the Eastern Fleet operations against Japan listed above. She reached Sheerness on 13 May 1945. He left her on 25 June, after she had paid off into dockyard control at Chatham.

Uboat.net retires him on 8 July 1949. Nothing between June 1945 and that date, and no death, was fetched.
