Charles Peter Frend had HMS Phoebe from 10 March 1942 until 4 August 1944. He took her through the Malta convoy of August 1942, the torpedo hit off Pointe Noire, the repair in the United States and at Barrow, the Anzio bombardment, and the first weeks with the Eastern Fleet, including the Sabang strike in July 1944.

Uboat.net gives his birth as 18 January 1899. It gives no place, no parents, and no death.

The same page lists him as midshipman from 2 August 1914, sub-lieutenant in 1918, lieutenant from 15 January 1920, lieutenant-commander from 15 January 1928, commander from 31 December 1933, and captain from 31 December 1940. He was a captain when he joined Phoebe.

The ship's command list is the only wartime appointment fetched for him. Phoebe's movements while he had her are in her naval-history.net chronology and are told with the ship. Nothing further about where he went on 4 August 1944 was on the page.

No later appointment, and no date of death, was on the page that was fetched.
