David Charles Kinloch, DSO, had HMS Dauntless from 2 October 1943 until 31 March 1945. He was a commander by then. She was a training cruiser at Rosyth for that command.

Uboat.net gives his birth as 28 May 1906. It gives no place and no death.

The rank line runs from acting sub-lieutenant on 15 September 1926, sub-lieutenant on 15 June 1927, lieutenant on 1 October 1929, lieutenant commander on 1 October 1937, and commander on 31 December 1942. The page says it has no career narrative.

Before Dauntless the same page lists the sloop Sennen from June 1941 to 11 November 1941, the escort destroyer Middleton from 12 November 1941 to August 1942, and the destroyer Obedient from 25 August 1942 to April 1943. It dates a DSO on 16 March 1943, while Obedient is still the command, and an OBE on 14 June 1945, after he had left Dauntless. It does not say what either decoration was for. He took Dauntless on 2 October 1943 and left her on 31 March 1945. The page retires him on 12 June 1946.

The fetched page ends with the retirement of 12 June 1946. It names no later appointment and no death.
