Captain Donald Edmund Wilcox was the Naval Academy class of 1923. He commissioned Thetis Bay (CVE-90) on 21 April 1944 and had her through the ferry runs of that year. Benjamin Eugene Moore, Jr. relieved him on 21 January 1945.
