Ichiro Yokoyama was a captain in the Imperial Japanese Navy who commanded the light cruiser Kuma from 14 November 1942 to 14 August 1943.
The sources used here do not record his date or place of birth or anything about his family.
He graduated from the Naval Academy at Etajima in its 47th class, and before this command he had been naval attaché in Washington from 10 September 1940 until the outbreak of war on 7 December 1941.
He was appointed on 14 November 1942 and came aboard at Makassar on the afternoon of 17 November. Under him she carried troops from Manila and Hong Kong to Rabaul, took soldiers to Kaimana and Kabui in New Guinea, and spent long spells as guardship at Makassar. On 23 June 1943 seventeen B-24s bombed her at Juliana Quay alongside Kinu, Oi and Kitakami; near misses straddled all four ships and did only slight damage. He handed her over on 14 August 1943.
He was later promoted rear admiral. On 2 September 1945 he was one of the three representatives of the Imperial Navy in the Japanese delegation that signed the surrender aboard USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay, with Rear Admiral Sadatoshi Tomioka and Captain Katsuo Shiba.
