John Noel Sparks had HMS Enterprise (D52) from 17 November 1942 until 28 December 1942, as a commander. Uboat.net's officer page adds the OBE to his name. The decoration is dated 2 June 1943, after this command.

Uboat.net records that he was born on 4 May 1901. The page gives no place and no date of death.

The rank table lists sub-lieutenant on 15 September 1921, lieutenant on 15 December 1922, lieutenant-commander on 15 December 1930, and commander on 31 December 1936. He retired on 4 May 1951. The OBE is dated 2 June 1943. The page says it has no career narrative.

He relieved George Eric Maxia O'Donnell on 17 November 1942. Mason has Enterprise on passage home that month: off the west African coast, at Freetown on 2 November, and at the Clyde in December, where she paid off for refit. O'Donnell took her again on 28 December. The pages do not say what the 1943 OBE was for, and they do not list another command.

He retired on 4 May 1951. The fetched pages do not record a death.
