Paul Brogden Koonce had Topeka (CL-67) from 1 June 1948 to 19 June 1949. NavSource lists him as captain and gives his final rank as rear admiral. The saved list prints a period after Brogden. The name here does not. DANFS does not name him. He is the last captain on the list before the first decommissioning.

No birth, death, or hometown was in the sources fetched for this ship.

Nothing before the cruiser is in the NavSource line.

His command is postwar. NavSource starts him on 1 June 1948, the day it relieves Ralph Earle Jr. DANFS has the ship in a four-month overhaul at Pearl Harbor that began late in May 1948, then on local operations out of Long Beach and San Diego from late October until February 1949, and at San Francisco from 25 February to prepare for inactivation. DANFS decommissions her on 18 June 1949. The list relieves him on 19 June 1949, the next day. The command line keeps the NavSource date.

The list prints rear admiral as his final rank and names no later ship.
