- HMS Danae (D44) Commander from 27 July 1945 · Relieved on 28 September 1946
Romuald Nalecz-Tyminski had ORP Conrad, the former HMS Danae, from 27 July 1945 until 28 September 1946. He was in command when Japan surrendered. The war he joined her for was already the aftermath in European waters.
Uboat.net gives his birth as 13 November 1905 at Szwederowo, Poland, and his death as 29 December 2003 at Toronto, Canada. He was 98. The name is printed without Polish diacritics. The page styles him komandor podporucznik's abbreviation, Kmdr.por., and gives the English rank as commander.
No training or earlier command was on the fetched officer page beyond that header. The English rank in the record is the parenthetical commander on uboat.net, not a separate translation.
Mason has Conrad on Home Fleet duty for the reoccupation in July and August 1945, at Oslo in September, and in home waters with the 10th Cruiser Squadron until the reserve in 1946. She reverted to the Royal Navy in September 1946. His appointment ends on 28 September 1946, which is the date uboat.net gives for the end of Polish service. Mason says only September.
He died in Toronto on 29 December 2003. No appointment after Conrad was on the fetched page.
