Sakae Takada was a captain in the Imperial Japanese Navy who commanded the training cruiser Kashima from 7 September 1942 to 1 July 1943.

The sources used here do not record his date or place of birth or anything about his family.

He graduated from the Naval Academy at Etajima in its 46th class, and before this command he had been executive officer of the battleship Mutsu.

He took command on 7 September 1942. Kashima stayed at Truk as Fourth Fleet flagship, and in November 1942 she made an inspection cruise to the Marshall Islands escorted by Asanagi and Yunagi. He was relieved on 1 July 1943.

He was later promoted rear admiral.
