Shigeichi Narita was a captain in the Imperial Japanese Navy who commanded the light cruiser Oi from 10 April 1942 to 3 October 1942.

The sources used here do not record his date or place of birth or anything about his family.

He graduated from the Naval Academy at Etajima in its 43th class, and before this command he had been commander of Destroyer Division 6.

He took command on 10 April 1942. Oi was then a torpedo cruiser with forty tubes, and at Midway in June she sailed with the Aleutian screening force and saw no action. In August and September she was converted into a fast transport and carried the 4th Maizuru Special Naval Landing Force to Truk. On 3 October 1942 he was relieved because of illness.

He died afterward and was promoted rear admiral after his death. The date of his death is not given in the sources used here.
