Takeo Nagai was a captain in the Imperial Japanese Navy who commanded the light cruiser Oi from 3 October 1942 to 24 December 1942.
The sources used here do not record his date or place of birth or anything about his family.
He graduated from the Naval Academy at Etajima in its 47th class, and before this command he had been commander of Submarine Division 33.
He relieved the sick Captain Narita on 3 October 1942. Under him Oi carried troops from Truk to Rabaul twice and was sighted but not attacked by the submarine Sculpin on 6 December. He was relieved at Kure on 24 December 1942.
