On 16 January 1944 she was in a hunter-killer group around the escort carrier Guadalcanal. Planes from that carrier sank the submarine U-544. The sinking is not hers. On 1 April 1944, in the screen of convoy UGS-36, German aircraft attacked. The escorts shot down two of them. That is not credited to one ship. John Graham York relieved him on 27 January 1945.
