Queenborough
The Royal Navy destroyer HMS Queenborough (G70) at anchor, probably off Wallsend-on-Tyne, England (UK), where she hed been built by Swan Hunter and Wigham Richardson. Public domain.

HMS Queenborough was a destroyer of the Royal Navy. Philip Lionel Saumarez was in command of her from 23 March 1945.

On 23 March 1945 she sailed with Task Force 57. Her work with that force was to screen the carriers against the Sakishima airfields.

She stayed in that screen as the carriers were covered against those airfields, a destroyer's station beside the larger ships of the force. On 1 April 1945, at Okinawa, Queenborough was in the screen of Task Force 57. She was not sunk.

Saumarez remained in command until he was relieved on 28 October 1945. Queenborough survived the war.
