HMS Urania was a destroyer of the Royal Navy. Denis Harold Palmer Gardiner was her captain from 11 October 1943. He was relieved on 19 June 1945, so the spring of that year still lay inside his command.
On 23 March 1945 she sailed with Task Force 57. Her duty was to screen the carriers against the Sakishima airfields. On 1 April 1945 she was at Okinawa, in the screen of Task Force 57. She was not sunk. Urania came through the war. She survived, and the ship was not lost.
