Kaga was an aircraft carrier of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Jisaku Okada was her captain from 15 September 1941.

On 7 December 1941 she took part in the attack on Pearl Harbor. She launched aircraft that day and came through the attack without a hit.

On 1 March 1942 she was committed to the loss of Edsall. Eight of her dive bombers flew in a strike of twenty-six aircraft that stopped Edsall, and a dive-bomb hit on Edsall is attributed to her.

Her last fight was the Battle of Midway. On 4 June 1942 American carrier dive bombers sank her with bombs. Kaga went down that day at Midway. The sinking is not credited to any one ship.
