Okinami was a Yugumo-class destroyer, built at Maizuru, launched on 18 July 1943 and commissioned on 10 December 1943.
On 25 October 1944 she was in Kurita's screen off Samar. She came through that morning.
On 13 November 1944 American aircraft sank her west of Manila. Not credited to one plane.
