Shirayuki was a Fubuki-class destroyer of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Zenji Ichimon was captain, with Hatsuyuki, from 25 June 1938 to 5 October 1938. Rokuro Sugawara was captain from 15 November 1940.

On 1 March 1942 she was in the Battle of Sunda Strait with Fubuki and Hatsuyuki. She launched nine torpedoes, and one man was killed. The sinking in that battle is not credited to one ship.

At the Battle of Cape Esperance on 11 October 1942 she was with the reinforcement group and was not in the night fight. The next day she finished Murakumo.

On 15 November 1942, the battleship night of the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal, she was in the escort. She was not sunk.

She led the Bismarck Sea convoy. In the Battle of the Bismarck Sea on 2 March 1943 she was Kimura's flagship.

On 3 March 1943 Allied aircraft sank her with bombs. The sinking of that flagship is not credited to one plane.
