Urakaze was a Kagero-class destroyer, built at Fujinagata, launched on 19 April 1940 and commissioned on 15 December 1940.
On 25 October 1944 she was in Kurita's screen off Samar. She was not sunk. The American ships lost that morning are not credited to her.
On 21 November 1944, northwest of Keelung, the submarine Sealion torpedoed her. She sank. That was the same boat, the same day, that sank Kongo. They were not the same fight as Samar.
