Cape Stevens was a freighter operated for the War Shipping Administration. This is not Cape Stephens. The records used here do not give her builder, hull number or delivery date, and no photograph of her was found.
She sailed in the Southern Garrison Group, Task Group 51.4, carrying defense troops for the Marshalls, and was at Kwajalein from 5 to 8 February 1944. She was not sunk there. This account rests on the Marshalls order of battle and the Maritime Commission build lists used on this site. No separate history of this ship was found, so nothing beyond those records is claimed here.
