FateAfloat. Sold in 1947. Scrapped in 1968.

Laid down, displacement, length, beam, draft, speed, and complement are not stored for each hull, so this table leaves them out.

Island Mail was a C2-SU freighter. Sun Shipbuilding at Chester, Pennsylvania, built her as Maritime Commission hull 112 (yard hull 200) and delivered her on 12 December 1941, five days after the attack on Pearl Harbor. She was a merchant ship, not a Navy ship.

She sailed in the Southern Garrison Group, Task Group 51.4, and was at Kwajalein from 5 to 8 February 1944. She was not sunk. She was sold in 1947 and scrapped in 1968. This account rests on the Marshalls order of battle and the Maritime Commission build lists used on this site. No separate history of this ship was found, so nothing beyond those records is claimed here.
