USS Anthony (DD-515) was a Fletcher-class destroyer of the United States Navy. She was launched on 20 December 1942 and commissioned on 26 February 1943. Blinn Van Nater became her captain that day.

She spent the rest of the Second World War in commission as a fleet destroyer. The Navy awarded her a Navy Unit Commendation for heroism in that service. She was still afloat when the fighting ended, and she survived the war.

On 17 January 1958 the United States loaned her to the Federal Republic of Germany. The German navy renamed her Zerstörer 1, hull number D170, and kept her in service from 1958 until 1972.

On 15 April 1972 she returned to United States custody, and the Navy struck her from its list the same day. West Germany then bought the hull on 27 June 1972 so it could be stripped for parts and broken up.

The ship was stricken again in 1976. On 16 May 1979, in the Mediterranean, U-29 sank her as a target for torpedoes.
