Bingham (APA-225) served as an attack transport of the Haskell class built by Permanente Metals at Richmond. She was launched on 20 November 1944 and commissioned on 23 December 1944.

The clock read 0542 on 24 June 1945 when she was detached for Okinawa's eastern side, sailing with White Swallow, a freighter, and with Clermont (APA-143). A little after 0800 the three entered Nakagusuku Wan and anchored some 3,000 yards from Yonabaru.

Through the afternoon she put Seabees and Army passengers ashore, and that work went on for several days. General quarters sounded at 2152. She secured at 2233.

One battle star was credited to her. She survived the war and was decommissioned on 17 June 1946.
