Burleson (APA-67) served as an attack transport of the Gilliam class. Consolidated Steel at Wilmington launched her on 11 July 1944, and she was commissioned on 8 November 1944.

On 1 April 1945 she steamed into the transport area off Okinawa. The assault opened that morning.

She started to unload on the day after she arrived.

One battle star stands on her wartime record. She was decommissioned on 9 November 1946.
