USS Cachalot (SS-170) was a submarine of the United States Navy. On 7 December 1941 she was in Pearl Harbor when the attack struck the harbor. She came through that day still afloat.

During the Battle of Midway, on 4 June 1942, she was one of twelve boats on the patrol line west of Midway. That patrol line was her station in the battle. She was not sunk there, and she survived the war. The Navy decommissioned her on 17 October 1945. She was sold for scrap on 26 January 1947.
