USS Callaghan (DD-792) was a Fletcher-class destroyer of the United States Navy. She was launched on 1 August 1943. The Navy commissioned her on 27 November 1943. F. J. Johnson was her captain from that day.

Her battle was Okinawa, dated 1 April 1945. From that date the campaign is the wartime service given for the ship. Callaghan was sunk on 28 July 1945. That loss closed her Okinawa service and ended the hull.

From her launch on 1 August 1943 to her sinking on 28 July 1945, she had a little under two years as a ship. Commissioned service ran from 27 November 1943, with F. J. Johnson in command from the start.
