USS Cuttlefish (SS-171) was a submarine of the United States Navy. In the Battle of Midway she was stationed on the patrol line west of Midway. On 4 June 1942 she was one of twelve boats holding that line.

The Midway patrol line was her place in the battle. She came through the action and was still afloat when it ended. Cuttlefish survived the war. The Navy decommissioned her on 24 October 1945. On 12 February 1947 the hull was sold for scrap.
