Goshen served as an attack transport of the Bayfield class, APA-108, built by Western Pipe and Steel at San Francisco. She served in the amphibious force as a troop and cargo carrier, with landing boats for the run to the beach.

On 17 April 1945 she came off Hagushi. The Okinawa campaign was already in progress when she arrived. She began at once to land troops and to unload cargo.

Hagushi was the beach for that call. Troops went into the boats, and cargo followed them, while the campaign continued. Her share was that landing of troops and cargo, begun the hour she stopped off the beach.

She was decommissioned on 2 May 1946. One battle star stands for the Hagushi landing.
