USS Grouper (SS-214) was a submarine of the United States Navy. The hull in this history is the boat numbered SS-214. On 4 June 1942, in the Battle of Midway, Grouper was on the patrol line west of Midway.

She was one of twelve boats on that patrol line. The line lay west of Midway, and Grouper held a place on it for the battle. Grouper was on the Midway patrol line and was not sunk there. She survived the battle.

She survived the war. The submarine that had been on the patrol line west of Midway was still in being when the war ended. On 2 December 1968 Grouper was decommissioned and struck. On 11 August 1970 she was sold for scrap. That sale disposed of the hull SS-214.
