Henry T. Allen (APA-15) served as an attack transport of the Harris class. She went down the ways on 24 May 1919 and was commissioned on 22 April 1942.

During November 1942 she flew the flag of the Northern Attack Force, stationed off Mehedia near Port Lyautey. From 7 November she sent Army troops out of the transport area and onto the beach. Shore guns were still shooting while that work went on.

On 22 April 1944 she was in Admiral Barbey's group when the troops went in at Tanahmerah Bay. Once that landing was in hand she continued on, reaching Cape Sudest on 24 April. For weeks after that she ferried further troops into Hollandia.

On 17 May 1944 she made a run of 120 miles out of Aitape, and the approach went undetected. She unloaded while ships' guns kept up a brisk bombardment for the Wakde-Sarmi landing, then headed back to Hollandia.

From the landing off Mehedia in 1942 through Hollandia and Wakde in 1944, she stayed at the work of putting troops on the beach. She was decommissioned on 5 February 1946.
