USS Howorth (DD-592) was a Fletcher-class destroyer of the United States Navy. She was launched on 10 January 1943.

The Navy commissioned her on 3 April 1944. Edward Stitt Burns became her captain that day and held the command until 5 June 1945.

At Okinawa on 1 April 1945, with Burns still in command, a kamikaze hit her bridge. Howorth remained afloat.

On 5 June 1945 William Lewis Thompson succeeded Burns as captain. The change came two months after the aircraft struck the bridge, and Thompson’s command ran on from that June day. Howorth survived the war. On 8 March 1962 the hull was sunk as a target.
