FateSunk. On 21 December 1944 a Japanese aerial attack off the Philippines sank her. The DANFS reprint does not call it a kamikaze and does not name a rescue ship. H-Gram 040 counts her with LST-460: both lost, and 107 of the 774 soldiers and sailors on the two ships. That figure is not hers alone. Struck from the Navy list on 19 January 1945.
Command
  • Flynn, Ralph B. Captain from 23 June 1944; DANFS names him at commissioning and gives the initial B. NavSource's command table prints Ralph Benson Flynn and carries the tour through 21 December 1944. Neither account says he was killed

Laid down, displacement, length, beam, draft, speed, and complement are not stored for each hull, so this table leaves them out.
