USS Paul Jones (DD-230) was a Clemson-class destroyer of the United States Navy. William Cramp and Sons built her at Philadelphia. The keel was laid on 23 December 1919, she was launched on 28 September 1920, and she was commissioned on 19 April 1921.

John Joseph Hourihan commanded her from 15 September 1941 until 10 January 1942. From that date the command is given to Lieutenant Commander Charles Richard Herms. Other accounts still name Hourihan as her captain at Balikpapan.

On 24 January 1942 she was in the Battle of Balikpapan, last in the column. She was not sunk. The transports lost that night are not credited to her. She survived the war.

Herms remained in command until 6 November 1943. George Paul Unmacht then commanded her until 4 October 1944, when Howard Martin Payne took over. Payne held command until the day she was decommissioned.

On 30 June 1945 she was reclassified AG-120. She was decommissioned on 5 November 1945 and stricken on 28 November 1945. On 5 October 1947 the hull was sold to Northern Metal at Norfolk and broken up.
