Renville (APA-227) served as an attack transport of the Haskell class from the Kaiser yard at Vancouver. She was launched on 25 October 1944 and commissioned on 15 November 1944.

She carried her landing force the way an attack transport was built to carry it, in the ship, and the last of the trip in her own boats.

On 1 April 1945 those assault boats took the embarked troops in to the beach at Okinawa. She departed on the 5th.

Renville survived the war. One battle star stands on her record.
