Sherburne (APA-205) served as an attack transport of the Haskell class. Permanente Metals built her at Richmond. She was launched on 10 July 1944 and commissioned on 20 September 1944.

On 1 May 1945, late in the afternoon, she reached the waters off Okinawa and straight away started sending troops and cargo over the side.

Foul weather set in, and attacks from the air held the work up. By the morning of 4 May the unloading was finished.

She survived the war. One battle star was hers, and the Navy decommissioned her on 3 August 1946.
