V magnitude
11.75
Where
95 arcmin west of V345 Lac, in the 1.50–1.60° ring
Signal
Candidate, 0.05 mag, 2.83 days. About 0.05 mag, under 2 hours. A 1 percent dip at phase 0.502. Contamination ratio 0.24, so the host is not settled.

What TESS shows

Forty-five minima of this candidate give

Min = BTJD 2868.63275 + 2.829242 E

The dip is 0.05 mag. It stays below 98 percent of normal light for 1.8 hours. A second dip of about 1 percent falls at phase 0.502. The times scatter by 14 minutes rms. The largest residual is 45 minutes. The contamination ratio is 0.24. A V = 10.1 star 101 arcsec away does not fade, and the star 5 arcsec away is 4.5 magnitudes fainter, but the host is still not settled. The note is not a VSX submission.

The light curves

Six TESS sectors. Red ticks are the deeper dips. The dip is shallow.

Finder chart

Real sky images (DSS2 red) with Gaia DR3 stars overlaid. North is up, east is left, J2000. Red tick marks point at the target (Gaia DR3 2005681871064654208, G = 11.68). Gold squares C1 to C5 are comparison stars of similar brightness. Tap an image for the full-size printable chart.

Comparison stars are within about 1 mag of the target in Gaia G, have similar color, no close companion, and no VSX entry within 10 arcsec. Images: DSS2 red (POSS-II, STScI Digitized Sky Survey). Stars: ESA Gaia DR3.

VSX

Not filed. Candidate from the 1.50–1.60° ring, 28 Oct 2026. A neighbor in the aperture is still possible.

Next two eclipses

  1. Eclipse 1Primary minimum, the deep one. 31 Oct 2026, 23:50 UTC · 31 Oct, 16:50 PDT Pacific · 1 Nov, 00:50 CET central Europe
  2. Eclipse 2Secondary minimum, the shallower one. 2 Nov 2026, 09:56 UTC · 2 Nov, 01:56 PST Pacific · 2 Nov, 10:56 CET central Europe

The deeper dip is 0.05 mag and lasts under 2 hours. The 1 percent dip follows 1.42 days later. This is a candidate: keep the bright star 101 arcsec away, and the star 5 arcsec away, out of the aperture. The largest residual is 45 minutes.

Help with a measurement

This one is a candidate. A resolved aperture, with the V = 10.1 star 101 arcsec away and the faint star 5 arcsec away kept out, is what shows whether this star is the one fading. Pick a date if you can try.
