What TESS shows

Thirty minima of this V = 8.54 star, HIP 109669, give

Min = BTJD 2848.0774 + 4.52285 E

The minimum falls to 97 percent of the light, 0.03 mag, and lasts about 4.5 hours. The times scatter by 44 minutes rms. The largest residual is 83 minutes. Two predicted times in the sectors stay at full light. There is no second minimum. Neighbors inside an arcminute are about five magnitudes fainter, so the dip is hard to put on one of them. VSX stars at 23, 28, and 58 arcsec are those faint neighbors, not HIP 109669. The dip is too shallow to file. The note is not a VSX submission.

Comparison stars are within about 1 mag of the target in Gaia G, have similar color, no close companion, and no VSX entry within 10 arcsec. Images: DSS2 red (POSS-II, STScI Digitized Sky Survey). Stars: ESA Gaia DR3.

VSX

Not filed. The dip is shallow. VSX objects 23, 28, and 58 arcsec away are fainter neighbors, not this star.

Next two eclipses

  1. Eclipse 131 Oct 2026, 15:18 UTC · 31 Oct, 08:18 PDT Pacific · 31 Oct, 16:18 CET central Europe
  2. Eclipse 25 Nov 2026, 03:51 UTC · 4 Nov, 19:51 PST Pacific · 5 Nov, 04:51 CET central Europe

Start about 90 minutes before the predicted middle and keep going 90 minutes after. The dip is 0.03 mag. A visual glance will not show it. Keep the faint variables 23 and 28 arcsec away out of the aperture.

Help with a measurement

The dip is 0.03 mag, and the middle can be off by about 80 minutes. A camera can time it if the faint stars 23 and 28 arcsec away stay out of the aperture. Pick a date if you can try.

The note

A shallow 4.52-day minimum: TIC 329864959 (PDF)

These pages use the public TESS Quick-Look Pipeline and catalog positions. A prediction is not a confirmation. If you observe, write down which star was in the aperture.
