Charles Owen Humphreys had Oklahoma City (CL-91) from 1 July 1946 until she was decommissioned on 30 June 1947. NavSource lists him as a captain and gives no later rank.

NavSource gives the name Charles Owen Humphreys and the rank of captain. It gives no class, no birth, no death, and no later rank. The DANFS commanding-officer table styles him Capt. Charles O. Humphreys and dates the command from 1 July 1946. It does not print a relief day. NavSource ends the command on 30 June 1947, the day DANFS places her out of commission.

Not on either list.

His dates are after the fighting. He relieved Commander Horace Vonarx Burkhart on 1 July 1946. On 15 August the ship entered the Mare Island Naval Shipyard at Vallejo for inactivation. He still had her when she was placed out of commission in reserve on 30 June 1947 and assigned to the San Francisco Group, Pacific Reserve Fleet.

Neither list says where he went when the ship left commission. The next commanding officer on NavSource is dated 7 September 1960, at the missile recommissioning, and is a different man.
