Horace Vonarx Burkhart had Oklahoma City (CL-91) as a commander from 5 June 1946 to 1 July 1946. She was at San Francisco, waiting on inactivation. The war had been over for nearly a year. No biography beyond the two officer lists was fetched.

NavSource gives the name Horace Vonarx Burkhart and the rank of commander. It gives no class, no birth, no death, and no later rank. The DANFS commanding-officer table styles him Cmdr. Horace V. Burkhart and uses the same days.

Not on either list.

His dates are after the fighting. He relieved Captain Dashiell Livingston Madeira on 5 June 1946 and was relieved on 1 July by Captain Charles Owen Humphreys. The ship did not enter Mare Island until 15 August. The command lines follow NavSource, and the first line says commander.

Neither list says where he went on 1 July 1946.
