Dering Parker Evans had Kenya from the command change of 8 January 1943 until 24 August 1943. Uboat.net starts him on 1 January. He took her out to the Eastern Fleet. He is not John Thomas Evans and not William A. Evans.

Uboat.net gives his birth as 26 December 1899. It gives no place, no parents, and no death.

The page lists him as sub-lieutenant from 15 January 1921, lieutenant from 15 October 1922, lieutenant-commander from 15 October 1930, commander from 31 December 1935, and captain from 31 December 1940. It dates his retirement 29 April 1950. It lists no decoration and no career note.

Before Kenya he commanded the sloop Egret, as a commander, from 19 January 1940 to 20 April 1940 and again from 19 May 1940 to 14 January 1941. In February 1940 Egret was on east-coast convoys. Under Evans, Kenya worked up at Scapa Flow, escorted WS 28 to the Cape, and on 25 April 1943 joined the Eastern Fleet at Kilindini. She reached Trincomalee in June. The chronology records the next command change on 24 August, which is the day uboat.net ends him and starts Commander Theodore Edward Podger.

Uboat.net retires him on 29 April 1950. Nothing between August 1943 and that date, and no death, was fetched.
