Eric Hart Dyke had Caledon twice. From 29 July 1943 to 10 December 1943 he was a lieutenant-commander, at the end of her conversion to an anti-aircraft cruiser. From 27 March 1945 to 6 April 1945 he was an acting commander, as she was being reduced to reserve at Falmouth.

Uboat.net records that he was born on 28 July 1906 at Murree, Kashmir, in British India, and that he died on 1 November 1971. The death place is printed "Saint Kitts en Nevis."

The rank table lists acting sub-lieutenant on 15 September 1926, sub-lieutenant on 30 May 1927, lieutenant on 15 October 1928, and lieutenant-commander on 15 October 1936. The acting commander's date is printed as unknown. He became commander on the retired list on 28 July 1951, the day he retired. He was mentioned in despatches on 1 July 1941 and again on 14 June 1945. The page says it has no career narrative.

Uboat.net dates the Chatham conversion from 14 September 1942 to 7 December 1943. He had her for the last four months of that work and turned her over to Reginald Frederick Nichols on 10 December 1943. His second command is the ten days between John Ronald Stewart Brown and James Robert Freeman, while Mason has her paying off and uboat.net has her disarmed at Chatham and then paid off at Falmouth on 29 April. The pages do not say what either mention in despatches was for. The second falls after he had left her.

He retired on 28 July 1951. He died on 1 November 1971.
