Mason has the formal transfer in September 1943, Home Fleet convoy duty from October, a Tyne repair in November, and Atlantic convoy work into 1944, with the Arctic 1944 battle honour. Plawski's command covers that first Polish operational season. Stanislaw Tytus Dzienisiewicz relieved him on 12 January 1944, before the Normandy refit.
He died in Vancouver on 23 May 1972.
