- USS Bobolink (AM-20) Lieutenant, 8 June 1943 – 1 October 1943
Harry Lee Sigleer, a lieutenant, commanded Bobolink from 8 June 1943 to 1 October 1943. NavSource gives the name, the rank, and the dates. It also notes a Legion of Merit for his predecessor, James Louis Foley, and does not note a decoration for Sigleer.
Birth, home, and family were not found.
No academy class and no earlier ship are on the line. He relieved Foley, who had had Bobolink since 10 November 1941, including Pearl Harbor and the Silver Star action off Guadalcanal in November 1942.
Bobolink was then a tug, AT-131 since 1 June 1942, working from Guadalcanal, Espiritu Santo, and Noumea. The ship's history says that employment lasted until February 1944. Sigleer's four months sit inside it. The history does not name a particular tow, rescue, or port call that can be tied to him rather than to the ship. He was relieved on 1 October 1943 by Ensign Fulton Glen Reed.
No later command or date of death was found.
