Fulton Glen Reed commanded Bobolink twice. NavSource lists him as an ensign from 1 October 1943 to 5 December 1943, and as a lieutenant (junior grade) from 30 August 1944 to 1 April 1945. The rank used for him is the higher of the two NavSource gives. He is not Allen B. Reed, Allan Lorentz Reed, or Kendall Sturtevant Reed.

Birth, home, and family were not found.

No academy class and no earlier ship are on either line. His first tour began when he relieved Lieutenant Harry Lee Sigleer.

During the ensign's tour Bobolink was still the South Pacific tug described in her history, working out of Guadalcanal, Espiritu Santo, and Noumea until February 1944. He left her on 5 December 1943, before that employment ended, and Lieutenant Elmar Louis Alfred Rau took command the same day. Reed's second tour began on 30 August 1944. By then she had been overhauled at Long Beach, had returned to Pearl Harbor on 29 June 1944, and had been reclassified an old fleet tug on 15 May 1944, during Rau's command. The history says she served in Hawaiian waters until the fall of 1945. Reed's second tour, through 1 April 1945, is inside that Hawaiian period. The history does not itemize the target tows or the harbor jobs. He was relieved by Lieutenant Edward Lewis Givins.

No command after 1 April 1945, and no date of death, was found. The two tours are the whole of what NavSource says about him.
