James Michael Charles Tighe, a lieutenant in the Naval Reserve, commanded Turkey from 6 June 1945 to 6 November 1945. NavSource ends the tour on the day she was decommissioned.

Birth, home, and family were not found.

No academy class and no earlier ship are on the NavSource line. He relieved Lieutenant (junior grade) Robert Albert Botsford.

Turkey began ten days of upkeep alongside the repair ship Prometheus on 7 June 1945, the day after he took command. She then operated between Leyte and Ulithi through the end of hostilities in mid-August. She stopped at Kwajalein on 24 August, sailed for Hawaii on 30 August, and reached Pearl Harbor on 11 September. From there she went to San Francisco. She was decommissioned on 6 November 1945, the last day of his NavSource tour, and was struck from the Navy list on 28 November. The sale to the Hawley Forge and Manufacturing Company of San Francisco, on 30 December 1946, is after any command NavSource gives him. NavSource's next line is blank of a successor. He is the last officer NavSource names in her.

No duty after the decommissioning, and no date of death, was found.
