Afloat

Lapwing-class minesweeper, Minesweeper No. 13, later the tug AT-143. Laid down at Chester on 19 August 1917 and commissioned on 13 December 1918. She swept the North Sea barrage in 1919, was laid up at Pearl Harbor in 1922, and recommissioned at Mare Island on 15 August 1938. On 7 December 1941 she was in a nest at the Coal Docks. She fired 37 rounds of 3-inch and about 2,350 rounds of .30 caliber, was not hit, and her report refused a single-ship claim for a smoking plane. She spent the rest of the war as a tug and was sold for scrap on 30 December 1946.
