Photos and infoNew Orleans-class heavy cruiser. A torpedo took her bow off at Tassafaronga. The ship that fired is not known. She was repaired and survived the war. In January 1944 she fired on Marshalls airfields and shipping as the Navy took Kwajalein, fueled at Majuro, and sailed on 11 February with the fast carriers.
