Photos and infoYorktown-class carrier. Fletcher's flagship at Coral Sea and at Midway. One bomb hit her in the Coral Sea. She was patched at Pearl Harbor and fought at Midway, where Hiryu's aircraft left her dead in the water and I-168 finished her.
Yorktown classDamaged by one bomb at Coral Sea on 8 May 1942, and not sunk there. Repaired in time for Midway. Aircraft crippled her on 4 June and I-168 sank her on 7 June.
