Yugure was a destroyer of the Imperial Japanese Navy, a ship of the Hatsuharu class. Zenji Ichimon was her captain from 1 December 1937 until 12 January 1938. Kiyoshi Kamo was captain from 15 October 1940.

At the Battle of the Coral Sea she stood in the carrier screen around Shokaku and Zuikaku. Her work that day was to stay with those carriers while the battle ran its course.

On 8 May 1942 Shokaku was damaged. Yugure and the destroyer Ushio took the carrier out of the fight. Yugure came through the day unhit, and Coral Sea left her afloat. She was still afloat the following summer. On 20 July 1943, aircraft sank her in the Vella Gulf.

No single plane is credited with that loss. The ship that had brought the damaged Shokaku clear of Coral Sea, in company with Ushio, ended under air attack in the gulf more than a year later.
