Photos and infoModified Leander-class light cruiser. She was at the Coral Sea and later at Guadalcanal, on the eastern screen, not in the Savo Island night fight. A submarine torpedoed her in July 1943. She survived and reached Tokyo Bay.
Modified Leander classTorpedoed by a Japanese submarine off the New Hebrides in July 1943. Thirteen men were killed. Not sunk. She was in Tokyo Bay for the surrender. The submarine has not been identified.
